Leach says, “I love talking with judges and telling all the things I am involved in and why I am the best person to be Miss Kentucky. Although she has a very unique talent, her strong suit is the interviews. She uses this skill for the talent portions of the pageants. Leach also has a very unique talent of clogging which her grandmother started teaching her at the age of eight. Leach wanted to win the title of Miss Kentucky United States pageant to be able to spread autism awareness throughout Kentucky and she believes she has all the qualifications to do it. Hayley Leach grew up in Grant County, Kentucky on a cattle and tobacco farm. In 2019, Myers was crowned Miss Kentucky United States. In 2016, she competed in her first Miss Kentucky USA pageant and made it to the top five. This is when she began her pageant training and devoted lots of her time to pageants. Although her friends doubted her, she knew she could do it. When former Miss Universe came to talk to her school, she knew that’s where she wanted to be someday. Although growing up and participating in many pageants, she was not always “accustomed to the spotlight.” Myers intentions were much more focused on her academics along with her relationships with her friends.

She entered pageantry to give women power and to be recognized not only for their beauty but the qualities that make them winners. The founder of the pageant system that the Miss Kentucky United States pageant is in, is Isabella Ilacqua. Miss United States Pageant is a part of the largest pageant system which allows kids and women 8+ to compete and give them a voice in this world. The pageant selects the representative who will compete for the title of Miss United States, generally held in Las Vegas. The Miss Kentucky United States pageant is a preliminary for Miss United States.
